Be With Me

Many times I have been asked - "What is this Be With Me holistic horsemanship that you keep talking about? Why is it special?"

The "Be With Me" holistic approach to horsemanship

The answer is both very simple and very complex - at the core is the connection with the horse, the other being, the mind. It is understanding one’s needs, fears, desires, and all that make us who we are. It is putting yourself in the shoes of the other, and understanding that your ego, your mindset, your values, and your fears are not the same for everyone.

This is true with people but rings even truer with other species - horses, dogs, cats etc.

And while the way you think is not the same, neither is less valuable than the other. Not one perspective is more “right”.

Realizing that and embracing it allows you to establish a true connection with the other being. A relationship where both sides give and take equally, where no side is feeling used and mistreated.

I know that you would ask “How can I then achieve this special, true connection that you talk about?”

“The Horse as a living being represents Nature itself and the whole universe. Man’s treatment of the Horse reflects also on his treatment of the world”

And my answer to that is simple: Listen, observe, feel… And ask questions!

What does my horse want? Why is he afraid in the first place? How would I feel in his stead if I was treated in that way? When is he feeling most comfortable? And how can I make him feel most comfortable around me?

These kinds of questions help you understand the mind in front of you (of any species) and are the ones enabling this magical, true connection that I talk about.

And this is all that “Be With Me” is about.

If you would wish to learn more about it, we have a few available spots for our “Be With Me” retreats, where we dive into all the details, principles, and techniques for establishing a “true connection”

The method behind the "Be With Me" holistic approach

At the heart of the "Be with Me" philosophy lies personal development - we strive to cultivate a spiritual and bodily awareness within oneself.

This self-awareness, coupled with an understanding of equine psychology and physiology, grows the horse's willingness to forge a connection with humans.

With the "Be With Me" approach, a lasting bond is formed between rider and horse, founded upon mutual understanding, trust and partnership.

Once our bond is discovered, all other aspects of horsemanship unfold effortlessly.
